Literature Circles: Lassos To Rope Students In
This presentation showcases a literature circle unit that appeals to the reluctant reader and to the student who devours books for lunch. Offering opportunity for teachers to really get to know their students and measure their skills through formative and summative assessments, this unit incorporates stations that allow for active reading, focused book chatting, responding to the text in writing, and student-teacher conferencing--culminating into a research project driven by student curiosity.
